The war never stops. Tuesday, January 29, 2013
(from an alternative journal)
Just when you think things settle down, you get hit in the
side of the head with something new,
In this case, she appears to be making a move on D.
“She asked to meet with me to talk about some things off the
record,” he said.
This is a move that I figured had to come at some point,
since he fits the profile, and she has been keeping tabs on him through A – who
would have informed her that he has no girlfriend, something all the women kid
him about.
He is pudgy and has self image problems, and so it the
perfect target for her, who seems to feed off his kind the say way my one-time
girlfriend Peggy did way back when.
The move also became more evident once she started to call
around and even hit on the mayor’s Chief Rival, who she once mocked behind his
back.
She seems to have only one tool, and she intends to use it.
How effective she will be depend on D, who I have told very little, but who
must suspect something and knows to be wary. But wary or not, D is vulnerable,
and through him, she hopes to continue the agenda she started when she was a
writer here.
This again raises the basic question as to which came first
the chicken or the egg, did she start working for RR before she came to our
office or after, or was she hired by the State Senator prior to her coming on
(and with the help of our original boss) only to find RR as good fit for
providing her the protection she needs.
Her latest move also suggests that she has a set plan, and
it may not be to be the star of our office so much as to use our office for her
own purposes – which may be to damage The Congressman and the Small Man on RR’s
behalf.
This may explain why she reached out to C– a known enemy of
the Small Man enemy, and Chief Rival, and tried to talk to Richard (The
assistant to the Congressman’s PR person and the son of a close Small Man
ally), all in an effort to continue so assault she started when she still wrote
for us.
If she still controls the owner and our former temporary
boss, using D might work.
But then, her goal may be simply to destroy D and make room
for her own return.
But I suspect this last bit is wrong.
She knows she can’t come back so she must operate more like
a puppet master, control the office from outside – making sure D does what she
wants, clearing the way for this through the owner.
This may be a miscalculation on her part in that it depends
on too many elements working together. She has also won the distrust of too
many people outside our office such as the Small Man, the Neighboring Mayor,
The Congressman and others, for her to come back and must operate by stealth,
weakening her ability to keep control of everyone.
D may not fall into line the way our owner did or our former
temporary boss, being a bit wiser to her from the start. But since this is how
she has always controlled situations, she must do what she must do to try and
make it work, perhaps a last-ditch desperate move before the whole scheme falls
apart.
If the Virgin Mayor survives his court battle, she’ll retain
strength, but she may not be able to manipulate our office
I haven’t’ a clue as to what her ultimate objective is. This
can’t be simply pushing RR’s agenda. Perhaps her new career is as a political
operative, if so then, she is stepping into a fish tank full of sharks that are
much better at this game than she is.
“They’re amateurs,” Tom told me.
